COMMODITY SPECIFICATION
BARLEY
The barley selected for this product shall be
milled from U.S. No. 1 human food grade supplies.
The barley shall be
cleaned using standard grain cleaning equipment to remove dockage, foreign
matter, and stones in accordance with good manufacturing practices. The
barley is cleaned, de-hulled through a pearling process, and cracked to reduce
cooking time.
The finished product shall comply with all regulations of the Federal Food, Drug
and Cosmetic Act.
The barley shall be de-hulled and cut in accordance with good manufacturing
practices.

The barely shall conform to the following detailed chemical and physical
properties:
