USDA school visit with the World Food Program
The United State Department of Agriculture not only donates commodities to private voluntary organizations to implement the Global Food for Education Initiative but also to the World Food Program. On this day, the Maunica elementary schools in the community of Maunica in the municipality of Dario, and the Las Joyas elementary schools in the community of Las Joyas in the municipality of Terrabona were visited.
The school feeding is either a breakfast or lunch depending on the school. Below, mothers prepare a breakfast of a tortilla, beans and noodles in the school’s kitchen. However, at some schools, the food is prepared at a parent’s home and then brought back to the school.
