 Fiscal Years 2009 & 2010

Food for Education proposals must be received by USDA by 5:00 p.m., Eastern Time, Friday, August 1, 2008.

This document contains instructions on submitting, via mail and/or e-mail, the required documents for the McGovern-Dole International Food for Education and Child Nutrition Program.

What documents do I have to submit to FAS in order to be considered for the McGovern-Dole International Food for Education and Child Nutrition Program (FFE)?

All applications for the FFE program must contain the following documents:

(1)   Standard Form 424 - Application for Federal Assistance (SF-424)

(2)   Program Introduction

(3)   Plan of Operation

Where can I find information on and samples of each of the required documents listed above?

Organizations should visit the home page of the Foreign Agricultural Service.  On this site, USDA provides samples, instructions and guidance on each of these documents.  Using these available documents will save time and increase the likelihood of submitting a higher quality proposal. These documents are located in Applying for the Program.

How do I submit my application?

Applicants may choose one of the following three methods to submit hard copy or e-mail versions of the application information:

1.       Organizations may mail hard copies of the proposals along with a diskette (compatible with Word 2000) to the following address:

Mr. Ron Croushorn, Director

Food Assistance Division

1400 Independence Ave, S.W.

Ag. Box 1034

Washington, DC 20250-1034

(Please note that regular mail is still being treated with radiation and this process delays delivery.  Overnight mail service is preferred);

2.       Organizations may hand deliver or courier the proposals along with a diskette (compatible with Word 2000) to the Portals Building, located at 1250 Maryland Ave., S.W., Washington, D.C. 20024.  Because the building is secure, the courier should telephone the Programming Division at (202)720-4221 and an employee will meet them in the lobby; or

3.       Organizations may submit the proposals through e-mail to the following address: PPDED@usda.gov.
