WTO Panel Releases Final Report for Korea's Imported Beef
On February 1, 1999, the United States requested consultations with Korea upon its failure to fill its minimum import quotas in 1997 and 1998 as required under a bilateral Record of Understanding. Koreas failure to meet the minimum import requirement brought to light a number of Korean policies that the United States viewed as WTO-inconsistent and impediments to trade. On July 31, the WTO Panel that examined Koreas beef import regime and domestic support program released its final report. Read the full report.
