Indonesia

Indonesia is an archipelago nation of 240.27 million people, the world’s fourth most populous country, and largest Muslim country. Although its economy slowed significantly from the 6 percent-plus growth rate recorded in 2007 and 2008, it expanded at approximately 4.5 percent in 2009 and had an average Purchasing Power Parity of $4,000 in 2009.  U.S. agriculture exports (excluding fish and forest products) to Indonesia reached $1.8 billion in 2009, making Indonesia the 8th largest market for U.S. agricultural exports with demand for soybeans, cotton, wheat, dairy products, and feed ingredients. U.S. agricultural imports from Indonesia (excluding fish and forest products) in 2009 totaled about $1.8 billion. Indonesia’s main exports to the United States are rubber, shrimp, coffee, and cocoa butter.
