Rebuilding Agriculture and Food Security in Afghanistan - Field Trip

Checking Animal Health in Ke Salah Village, Afghanistan

In March 2009, Renee Thakali, USDA Agricultural Advisor in Afghanistan visited Ke Salah Village in Afghanistan.  This is the account with pictures.

"This was my first mission to visit a remote and friendly Hazaran tribe village up in the mountains. I invited Dr Tuba Safi to come along, a young lady just graduated from Vet School in Kabul, as she needs some practical experience before starting her own village vet clinic. We also met with village elders to discuss the possible donation of a village tractor to plow their fields. The village reminded me of Thak Khola in Nepal. We were invited for tea but had a long drive back over rough roads. The women were all hiding behind windows carefully watching all the activity."
