Data & Analysis

For calendar year (CY) 2014 and CY 2015, the total cattle population is estimated to grow from 300.6 to 301.1 million head.
Both EU beef and pork production are forecast to increase in 2015.
The agricultural minister of Lower Saxony has introduced a new protein feed initiative on July 29. The goal of the initiative is to promote the cultivation of peas, beans and lupins.
Beef production is expected down in 2015, as slaughter is lower than the revised 2014 number, reflecting the expectation that the UAE’s cattle donation will not continue into the coming year.
