SIAL Mercosur ( Buenos Aires, Argentina -- August 25 - 27, 2009)

 

This event, held annually, is the largest regional food show in South America.  In 2008, 25,000 trade visitors attended the show, resulting in 56 promising contacts for 12 U.S. exhibitors.  U.S. companies reported $1.73 million in 12-month projected sales.   Best market prospects include dairy products, confectionery, fresh fruit and vegetables, processed fruits and vegetables, tuna, pork and poultry, sauces, soup preparations, nuts, extracts, snack foods, candy, chewing gum, energy drinks, and coffee.  Show Date:  August 25-27, 2009. Asia Fruit Logistica (Hong Kong, Hong Kong -- Sept. 2-4, 2009)

This event is a specialized trade show for the international fruit and vegetable trade in Asia.  Asia Fruit Logistica 2008 was held in Hong Kong and was a truly international event, attracting 215 exhibitors from 33 countries and nearly 4,000 trade visitors. Products with the best market prospects include almonds, apples, grapes, citrus/grapefruit, cherries, all types of berries, ethnic & specialty vegetables, and ready-to-eat packaged vegetables.  This regional show is the world’s fastest growing market for fresh produce. Fine Food (Sydney, Australia -- September 7-10, 2009)

 Fine Food is Australia’s largest food trade show, attracting over 23,000 buyers and decision makers in the food importing, distribution, retail and catering industries.  Australia is one of the fastest growing markets for U.S. consumer-ready food products.  Its multi-billion dollar food and beverage market serves a population that is affluent, diverse, well educated and appreciates innovative products.  Between January-November 2008, U.S. exports of consumer-ready food products to Australia reached a record US$558 million, representing almost 11 percent of Australia’s total imports of these products.  For companies interested in marketing its U.S. products in the Australian market, we believe that Fine Food Australia is the place to “meet the Australian market.”  For more information on the USA Pavilion, please contact Sharon.Cook@usda.gov or call 202-720-3425.

Asia Food Expo (Manila, Philippines -- September 23 -26, 2009)

 
Asia Food Expo, held annually in Manila, is the Philippines’ largest industry exhibition featuring food and beverage products and the latest food processing equipment.  Asia Food Expo 2008 welcomed 560 exhibiting companies and 38,078 registered local and international trade buyers and visitors.  Products with the best market prospects in the Philippines include bakery, snack food and beverage ingredients and additives, natural and healthy food products, dairy consumer products and ingredients, pet food, juices, wines, beef, tree nuts and dried fruits.

Food Ingredients (Fi) Asia (Bangkok, Thailand -- September 9-11, 2009)

 
Recognized as the top meeting place for highly professional food ingredient suppliers and one of the industry’s “must-attend” food ingredient shows, Fi Asia 2008 attracted over 7,000 visitors and welcomed nearly 300 exhibitors from 33 countries.  Featured products included sweeteners, colorings, dairy ingredients, flavorings, and functional ingredients for the food, beverage, confectionary industry and more!  Returning to Bangkok in 2009, this USDA-endorsed event attracts food professionals from across Southeast Asia.  Best market prospects include specialty food ingredients, bakery, and snack ingredients

World Food Moscow 2009 (Moscow, Russia -- September 15-18, 2009)

This USDA-endorsed event offers opportunity to introduce U.S. food in Russia, one of the world's fastest growing markets. Last year, this 4-day event drew more than 1,308 exhibitors from 61 countries and attracted more than 45,000 importers, wholesalers, retailers, and processors from all parts of Russia and from many neighboring countries. Abastur (Mexico City, Mexico -- Sept. 30--Oct. 2, 2009)   

 Abastur is considered to be one of the largest trade shows for the hospitality industry in Mexico.  In 2008, over 18,000 visitors, including top buyers and importers, attended the event.  Best market prospects include beef, pork, dairy products, seafood, poultry products, snacks, food ingredients, fruit and vegetable juices, sauces and other condiments, fresh and processed fruits and vegetables, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, vegetable oils, frozen products, sugar and sweeteners, herbs and spices. Food & Hotel Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam – October 1-3, 2009)

A USA Pavilion is being organized at the 5th edition of Food & Hotel Vietnam, a sourcing ground and networking trade event for food and hospitality trade professionals in Vietnam. The event will be held at the new venue of Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center. Food & Hotel Vietnam 2007 welcomed 8,374 trade professionals from all over Vietnam, an increase of 15.7 percent from the previous edition. It also featured 240 exhibiting companies from 22 countries/regions. Best market prospects include dairy products, chilled & frozen meat, frozen poultry, fresh fruits, snack foods, packaged foods (canned fruit and vegetables, canned meat, juices, condiments, sauces), dried fruits & tree nuts, wines and confectionary. ANUGA (Cologne, Germany – October 10-14, 2009)

ANUGA, held bi-annually in Cologne, Germany, is the world’s largest food and beverage industry trade event.  At ANUGA 2007, approximately 163,000 visitors from 175 countries and 6,795 visitors from 95 countries did business and signed deals.  The USA Pavilion at ANUGA was a successful platform for its 148 participants, generating an estimated $9.8 million in on-site sales and over $89 million in 12-month projected sales.  Exporters of U.S. agricultural products have always enjoyed participating in this event, and we hope you will consider joining us in Cologne for ANUGA 2009.  For early bird pricing, register before February 2, 2009!  See attached flyer.  You may also contact Sharon.Cook@fas.usda.gov or call 202-720-3425.

 


TRADE ONE 2009 – Santiago, Chile -- (November 4-6, 2009)

 Held bi-annually in Santiago, Chile, Trade One is a multi-industry show that gathers exhibitions of logistics, packaging, food processing, technology, marketing and merchandising, retail, hotel & gastronomy, bakery and food.  This umbrella show is considered the main trade event for Chile and the Latin American markets.  The 2009 version will have the U.S. as “guest country” with a big and dynamic U.S. pavilion.   Trade One 2007 welcomed 500 exhibitors from 5 continents and attracted over 20,000 trade visitors from 40 countries.  Please consider joining the U.S. pavilion at this truly international event.  For more information, please contact maria.herrera@fas.usda.gov or call 56-2-330-3454.

Food & Hotel China - ( Shanghai, China -- November 18-20, 2009)

Gulfood 2010. (Dubai, United Emirates -- February 23 - 26, 2010)

 Held annually, Gulfood 2010 is the largest food and food equipment show trade event held in Dubai, United Emirates. In 2009, the show had 3,300 exhibitors from 76 countries; this trade-only event is the Middle East's largest hospitality-related food and equipment exhibition, drawing buyers from throughout the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and Africa.  The number of visitors to the show exceeded 45,000.  The best prospects are almonds (shelled) beef, poultry meat, snack foods, fresh apples and pears, edible oils, cheeses, fruit and vegetable juices, condiments and sauces, breakfast cereals, confectionary products, frozen vegetables, pulses, planting seeds, sweeteners, beverage bases and pet foods.  In 2009, Gulfood number of visitors to the show exceeded 45,000.  Show Date:  February 23-26, 2010 and the deadline is September 2009.  Contact:  Tobitha Jones at 202-690-1182 or e:mail: Tobitha.Jones@fas.usda.gov
