First Federal Hispanic Career Advancement Summit

The first Federal Hispanic Career Advancement Summit was held October 1, 2008, at the Crystal Gateway Marriott Hotel in Arlington, VA.  This summit championed the advancement and development of Hispanic Americans in the federal sector – especially those at the GS-15 level who are eligible for promotion to the Senior Executive Service.

Because registration for the summit reached the limit of 650 within 48 hours, and more than 1,000 remained on a waiting list, the workshop presentations are available at http://www.federalhispaniccareeradvancementsummit.org/workshops.htm. Links to the presentations are listed under the three open enrollment workshop topics.

One of the workshops that was provided at the summit was presented by Dr. Samuel Betances on “Strategies for Effective Leadership.” His workshop presentation is available at http: //www.federalhispaniccareeradvancementsummit.org/sel.htm.

More information about the summit is available at http://www.federalhispaniccareeradvancementsummit.org/index.htm, including links to background materials about the summit at http://www.federalhispaniccareeradvancementsummit.org/links.htm
